New in Funding: £20M pours into London’s Lyres, Gooder Foods grab $6.4M

🌾 Californian agtech Farmers Business Network, which is a fintech marketplace for farmers and data analytics platform for online grain and inputs, secured $300M Series G funding at a valuation of just under $4 billion, more than double its valuation from August 2020.

🛵 Fresh food retail platform GrubMarket raised $200M in an oversubscribed Series E round at a valuation of $1.2 billion, and is aiming to IPO in the next year having already achieved an annual run rate of $1 billion.

💰 Chinese agrifoodtech venture capital firm Bits x Bites closed its latest fund at $100M to support the country’s startups that are working towards a sustainable food future.

🚜 Autonomous tractor maker Monarch secured $61M Series B funding to scale its manufacturing and sales of its electric tractor. Its equipment is an antidote to the farming labour shortages across the US.

💸 US agricultural cooperatives CHS and Growmark launched a $50M venture capital fund to invest in “breakthrough technologies” that will advance the farming industry.

🍸 Lyre’s, a London-based non-alcoholic spirits brand, raised £20M at a valuation of £270M to scale up its operations and continue expanding its customer base.

🍄 Israeli animal-free dairy company Imagindairy secured $13M seed funding to support development of its precision fermentation technology, as it is cooperating with leading dairy companies to offer a complete range of molecularly identical dairy-free proteins.

🧾 Australian hospitality food wholesale marketplace FoodByUs raised $10M Series A funding, having seen annual sales increase by more than 600% since 2019.

🥗 Singapore-based SaladStop raised $8.9M Series B funding to “foster more tech-enabled growth”. The ‘grab n’ go’ salad chain has evolved into a hybrid offline retailer and it intends to “become the leading personalized nutrition company in Asia”.

👩🌾 Glife Technologies secured $8.1M Series A funding for its farm produce marketplace. It plans to further invest in its F&B software platform, which provides solutions that allow foodservice outlets to keep track of logistics and inventory.

🧀 Gooder Foods raised $6.4M to launch new macaroni and cheese brand Goodles, created by Gal Gadot and boasting healthy alternatives to leading brands that tackle both better taste and nutrition.

🗑 Israeli agtech FruitSpec raised $5M for its system for managing early estimation of fruit yields, which allows very accurate fruit production forecasts while still in the orchard, reducing waste and optimising profit.
