🚚 Indian food delivery app Swiggy raised $800M series J funding and hit a $5B valuation. It diversified from restaurant delivery into grocery delivery through the pandemic, and launched its dark store-based platform, Instamart, offering 45-minute delivery of fresh groceries.

💰Retail analytics firm Trax secured $640M series E funding at a valuation of $2 billion. Its AI-powered retail cloud platform features image recognition technology that turns shelf images in stores into real-time actionable insights.

🧫Silicon Valley-based food tech Mission Barns closed $24M series A funding to scale up and commercialise its cultivated animal fat technology for applications in plant-based alternative proteins.


🦐Parent company of plant-based seafood brand Good Catch, Gathered Foods, raised $26.35M, bringing its total to $70M. It plans to grow Good Catch’s brand presence in line with the growing consumer demand for plant-based seafood.

👨‍💻US-based online grocery platform Mercato secured $26M series A funding. Its technology allows smaller grocers and speciality food stores to get online quickly, to capitalise on the pandemic-driven growth in online grocery sales.

🍷 Molecular spirits maker Endless West secured $21M series B funding. It’s one of the first companies addressing climate change through product innovation in the spirits world, with its technology which extracts key wine and spirit aroma and flavour molecules from more efficient resources, such as plants, fruits and yeast.
