🥡 Instant grocery giant GoPuff is on track to raise $1.5 billion, at a valuation of $40 billion, to further expand its international operations. The space is booming, here are our thoughts on it from earlier this year.

🥩 Israel’s Future Meat Technologies is raising $320M in a round that will bring its value to $600M (hello, Soonicorn!), and allow it to build a cell-based meat production facility in the US. CEO Rom Kshuk also stepped down this week.

🇸🇪 Leading food tech investor Nicoya, which supports brands such as Nick’s, El Taco Truck and Peas of Heaven, secured SEK 400 million (€40M) to invest in the next generation of food tech.

🥬 Berlin-based urban farming company Infarm secured $200M Series D funding and hit unicorn status. It will use the funds to accelerate the global expansion of its vertical farms, particularly in markets where food insecurity is an issue.

💸 Hong Kong accelerator Brinc, which supports startups within food, health and deep tech, raised $30M Series B funding to further expand its programme offer.

🚜 Argentine farmer marketplace Agrofy secured $30M Series C funding, bringing its total funding to $66M. It claims to be “the leading agribusiness online market in Latin America,” operating in nine countries across the region.

💻 Parisian startup La Belle Vie raised €25M Series B funding to further expand its online grocery delivery platform, which was among the first in the industry, in particular its BAM Courses offer which delivers more than 2,500 products in under 15 minutes.

🎂 Finland’s Oddlygood Global closed €25M in its first funding round to support the growth in its international plant-based business, which features ready-to-consume products alongside those for cooking and baking.

🧊 Leading US plant-based frozen food brand Jack & Annie’s , which launched into retail a year ago and is already the third-largest brand in the frozen food category, secured $23M Series B funding to further expand its range of jackfruit-based products.

🚚 VOLY, a Sydney-based speedy grocery delivery startup, raised $18M seed funding just five months after launching to expand its team ahead of a national rollout.

🌱 GREENFORCE, a plant-based food tech based in Germany, secured €15M in an equity round to accelerate growth of its vegan meat and dairy alternatives, which come in easy-to-mix powder formats.

🦘 Aussie startup Provectus Algae raised $11.4M pre-Series A funding to scale its biomanufacturing platform, which produces algae-based ingredients that can be used across multiple sectors.

📲 Singapore’s sustainable review platform abillion, which already has one million users, closed $10M Series A funding to support product development and app extension.

📦 London-based sustainable packaging startup Notpla raised £10M Series A funding for its ‘Ooho’ solution, a seaweed-based packaging that is both edible and fully biodegradable in just 4-6 weeks.
