🤑 Mars, Inc. is buying Kind North America, one of the biggest brands in healthy snacks, for an estimated $5Bn.

🛵 Online grocery giant Instacart is reportedly planning an IPO valued at $30Bn, after its valuation rose to $17.7Bn last month, and delivery specialist DoorDash just filed an S-1 as it approaches a long-intended IPO, having filed initial paperwork back in February.

🐅 White Claw Hard Seltzer’s owner is investing $400M in a new brewery and production facility in South Carolina, to keep up with demand for its product, a move which should hopefully strengthen the county’s appeal to other big brands in the food & beverage sector.

🍔 McDonald’s is investing over $380M to introduce McCafes into its restaurants in China, to take advantage of the growing demand for coffee in the country.

🌱 Natural Order Acquisition Corp., has raised a $230M IPO to fund its portfolio of firms working on plant-based foods and alternative proteins.

🌾 Chinese ag drone maker XAG has raised $182M to fund its pesticide drones, which are part of its plan to develop a “digital agricultural infrastructure” and help its clients build completely unmanned farms in the future.

🍄 Mycoworks just closed a celeb-backed $45M funding round to scale up production of its mycelium-based, animal-free leather. Investors in the funghi-based tech included John Legend and Natalie Portman, alongside ‘several major fashion brands’.

🥛 Organic and plant-based producer SunOpta is investing $26M into its Minnesota oat-processing facility to help meet the rising demand for oatmilk in the USA. The expansion will allow it to quadruple production and create 20 new jobs.

💰 UK-based investment company Agronomics, whose main focus is cultivated meat and alternative proteins, raised £10M in an oversubscribed equity round. The firm also announced that it is investing $5M in cell-based seafood specialist BlueNalu, to combat some of the issues with the fishing and aquaculture industry.

🥬 ‘Dark’ online grocer Farmstead has raised $7.9M series A funding, bringing its total raised to $14.5M. It plans to use the investment for its national expansion which, given the online grocery market is booming, we’re sure will be a success.

🥑 San Francisco keto brand Health Via Modern Nutrition announced a new $5.5M funding round, bringing its total raised to $8.1M. 

☕️ New York-based Terra Kaffe landed $4M to fund its environmentally-friendly pod-free grind and brew coffee machines. Its first product, the TK-01, has already sold in the thousands.
