It's a good week to be in the European FoodTech scene.

  • In Germany, alt-dairy maker Formo announced their $50M Series A raise (a record for FoodTech in Europe).
  • In Switzerland, food giants Givaudan, Migros and Buhler announced the launch of their cultured meat pilot plant.
  • In Netherlands, cell-based meat co. Meatable partnered with DSM to lower the cost of growth media.
  • In Finland, Helsinki-based Maki.vc closed its second fund at €100M to invest into seed stage startups across Europe.
  • In Spain, Eatable Adventures announced the launching of their New Food Innovation hub in Madrid.

The days of FoodTech being reserved to a select few geographies seems to be over, and we're headed to a more distributed, more global FoodTech ecosystem.
