💡 The Digest

Top Novel Farming Systems funding deals, 2020. Source: AgFunder 2021 Farm Tech Investment Report

📈 What’s Up: AgFunder released the latest edition of its Farm Tech Investment Report and highlighted that funding for agritech startups last year saw its biggest annual increase since 2018, with insect farms and vertical agriculture amongst the top-funded ‘Novel Farming’ startups.

📉 What’s Down: The gig economy has seen a lot of backlash lately, underlined by Spanish speedy delivery service Glovo riders and dark store workers striking today to demand better pay and working conditions. And a California judge just ruled Prop 22 unconstitutional, If the judge's ruling is upheld, unprofitable apps like Uber and DoorDash would likely become even more unprofitable.

💰Demo Day: 200+ VC's, CVC's, business angels and family offices have already reserved their place at FoodHack's first ever Demo Day. Apply to pitch your startup here before the deadline of Tuesday 31st August.

💸 New In Funding
