She is passionate about equal access to food and creating climate resilient societies. Prior to joining Astanor, she led the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Middle East & Africa energy and agri-food business development.

David Kappeler

FIT Foundation

David has over 20 years of experience in Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions and as a Startup executive. He’s the Head of Investments at FIT: a Swiss Foundation who’s invested in more than 270 startups since 1994 for over $40Mio.

Rajeev Chitrabhanu


Rajeev is one of India's most well-respected investment bankers, business advisors and business angels. He previously led multibillion dollar financial firms JM Morgan Stanley and subsequently JM Financial, advised venture capital firms TPG, Bessemer Venture, Kae Capital, and helped take over 30 companies public.

Alexandre Bastos


Alexandre is an active player in the Givaudan journey to drive a more collaborative and inclusive approach to innovation. Alexandre's role as Head of Front End Innovation is to explore and bring new opportunities by connecting with start-ups and entrepreneurs that are innovating and disrupting the food and agriculture ecosystem.

How long are the pitches ?

Each startups has 2 minutes to present their company with 1 additional minute for Q&A with our investors panel.

Can I use slides?

Slides are allowed and encouraged. We recommend keeping it up to 10 slides max.

How many startups will be selected to pitch?

A total of 30 early-stage startups (pre-seed to series A) with promising FoodTech solutions will be selected to pitch.

When will selections be made?

Startup applications to pitch are open until 31st of August. The final batch of selected startups will be made and announced on September 10th 2021.

Who will make the startups selection?

We’ve curated a panel of active investors across FoodTech to support with the selection of startups. This include a mix of VC analysts, angel investors and CVC’s.

How will I know if I’ve been selected or not to pitch?

On September 10th, we’ll send an email to everyone who applied with an answer on whether they’ve been selected.

Can I attend as a Startup even if I’m not selected?

Unfortunately not as it’s a private demo day, only accredited investors and selected startups can attend.

Will you do more events like this?

Absolutely! We plan to make these demo days a regular occurrence. Sign up to the FoodHack newsletter for future dates.

Is it a paid event ?

No, it is a completely free of charge event made for investors and start-ups matchmaking.

How will my data be used after I apply?

Only accredited investors and jury members selected by FoodHack will have access to the information you've provided in your application form.


To ensure the safety of all attendees, staff, and vendors, The FoodHack Summit will require all attendees to be fully vaccinated or to show proof of a negative PCR test 72 hours ahead of the event. All final safety protocols and requirements will be finalised and shared with participants by Sept. 1, 2021 inline with the latest regulations.
