Covid-19

Why did the event dates changed from October 2021 to May 2022?

The FoodHack Summit was planned at a time when the COVID delta variant was not yet known. Due to the recent increase spread, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the event to May 2022 to :

1) Ensure the safety of all participants.
2) Ensure that our international speakers and attendees can attend the event without any travel / quarantine restrictions.
3) Maintain the quality of the event that we envisioned and promised to all attendees and stakeholders. Read more here.

Why not make the FoodHack Summit a virtual event?

Virtual events can be great, they’re just not right for the FoodHack Summit.

The goal of the FoodHack Summit is to bring international speakers and attendees together to meet in-person at an event that emphasises networking and collaboration. One where we can shake hands, high five, eat from buffets, try new products from startups and just hang out in close proximity.

We believe virtual formats have limitations and would not allow for us to carry out this vision.

Can I get a refund if I cannot come and what is the deadline for this ?

If you cannot join due to travel restrictions, you can choose to get a total refund OR a partial refund to give you access to the virtual Summit experience.

If you've already booked a ticket before the change of dates, please fill in the form here to let us know if you prefer to request a full refund OR to hold your ticket for the Summit in May 2022.

I’ve already booked my flights / hotel before the change of dates, what can I do?

Unfortunately we don't cover flight / hotel cancellations - we do recommend requesting to change your flight / hotel dates so that you can attend the Summit in 2022. The dates are 12th - 13th May.  

Please contact team@foodhack.global if you need an official cancellation letter from us in order to share with you work, flight or hotel accommodation.

What If I’d like to keep my ticket to attend in 2022?

We’d love to have you maintain your ticket and use it to attend the Summit in 2022. You’ll also likely have secured the best price ticket available as prices will increase in 2022. If you haven’t yet, please fill in the form here to let us know you'd like to postpone your ticket. 

Will you have the same speakers and agenda in 2022?

Yes - many of the speakers confirmed for 2021 will stay on in 2022. For the few that cannot make it, we’ll have speakers of the same calibre.

Will you still be hosting a Summit in 2021?

No, we will not be hosting the Summit until in-person events are possible. We have instead moved the FoodHack Summit to May 12-13th 2022 and in-place of the Summit, we will be hosting an invite-only Virtual Demo Day.

When and where will the next FoodHack Summit be held?

The next FoodHack Summit will be held at Beaulieu in Lausanne, Switzerland on the 12th and 13 of May. Tickets are already available on our website.


What will be the access conditions to the FoodHack Summit ?

To ensure protection of all attendees and our fellow staff members, the health pass [pass sanitaire] is needed to attend the Summit and access the venue.

It requires to show a complete vaccine certificate (2 doses administered, the last one at least 2 weeks ago) OR to present a negative RT-PCR test/antigen test made less than 48hours before the Summit OR a recovery certificate attesting you had covid (positive RT-PCR) dated from more than 11 days and less than 6 months.

What are the protective measures planned during the Summit ?

The FoodHack Summit will ensure all attendees complies with the latest safety regulation in place at the federal and cantonal level for Switzerland.

‍In addition to the health pass, social distancing measures may be applied (1,5 meters between participants) which won’t prevent minds from being connected! Masks may be mandatory inside except when you are seated or to eat and drink. 

All final safety protocols and requirements will be finalised and shared with participants ahead of the event.

Will masks be mandatory during the Summit?

So far, no restrictions apply to Swiss events asking for COVID certificate. While masks are not required today, the FoodHack Summit reserved the right to ask you to wear a mask inside if the sanitary situation requires it and according to the Swiss safety rules.

Where can I get tested near the Summit in Lausanne?

The nearest place you can get tested in is in Beaulieu (right next door!).You can go with or without an appointment, however we advise you to book a slot to avoid waiting:

Attendees & Exhibitors Tickets

What is included in an attendee ticket ?

In-person attendees tickets include:
All-day food and drinks, access to startup fair, to main stage keynotes, fireside chat and panel discussion, plenty of time to network and on-demand access to streamed content for 30 days after the event. 

Virtual tickets include:
Aaccess to live stream and on-demand keynotes, fireside chat and panel discussion, opportunities of online 1:1 networking and access to on-demand content for 30-days after the event.

What’s included in a Startup or Service-Provider Booth ticket?

Exhibitor booth:
Set area within the startup zone (about 5m2 square per booth)
Standard table (120x 70 cm) fully customisable (at your cost), two chairs
Standard electricity access 

Conference access:
Access to the event for 2 persons
food & drinks during the event
access to keynotes, panel and fire side chat
Plenty of time for networking

We kindly request that you participate to the full event and always have someone at your booth during the startup fair official opening hours: Every day from 12:00 to 15:30 

At what time should I come to setup?

Opening time:
For exhibitor booths: 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. 
For visitors: from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Set-up time for exhibitors:
Set-up period begins on Wednesday 11th May 2022 at 3:00pm. Set-up period ends Wednesday 11th May 2022 at 8:00pm.

Dismantling time
All booths will be dismantled on Friday 13th of May from 7:00pm onwards. Dismantling must be done by 11:00pm the same day. 

Is the email ticket confirmation enough to enter?

To join us in-person, you’ll need to show your email confirmation with your ticket(s) & your sanitary pass.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

In case the Summit is not sold out, a few tickets will be available at full price at the door on May 12th and May 13th 2022.

Venue Access

How do I access it by train? 

Trains are leaving every 12 minutes from Geneva airport to Lausanne city center. Your journey will last approximately 50 minutes. 

How do I access it by bus?

From Lausanne main station, you’ll have the option to either take a cab or use public transportation (recommended options) to reach Beaulieu. Bus 3 and Bus 21 will take you to the Halle 36 in 10 minutes

How do I access it by car? Is parking available?

Beaulieu Lausanne Convention Center is five minutes away from the Blécherette exit of the A9 freeway. It has an underground parking garage with 580 parking spaces.

Safety

To ensure the safety of all attendees, staff, and vendors, The FoodHack Summit will require all attendees to be fully vaccinated or to show proof of a negative PCR test 72 hours ahead of the event. All final safety protocols and requirements will be finalised and shared with participants by Sept. 1, 2021 inline with the latest regulations.

In order to give you the peace of mind, and ensure you don’t miss out on early-bird tickets, FoodHack will honor all attendee cancellations or requests for refunds with no penalty until Sept. 1.
