A biologist by training, Emily has over a decade of experience working on technologies and systems that support a more sustainable future. As a previous founder and early employee of several food and agriculture biotechnology startups, she has a broad background of research, growth strategy, company building, and technical experience. Emily received her BS in Biochemistry and MBA degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is currently helping industrial biotech and foodtech startups overcome scale-up challenges at Hawkwood Biotech and is a Venture Associate at San Francisco-based Genoa Ventures.
